Latest Info on the 2025 ID.7

The Volkswagen electric models available for 2025 include the already available ID.4, and the upcoming ID.Buzz. As for the release date of the VW ID.7, we are still awaiting official data.

Following its resounding success in Europe where it has won international awards, we are eager to see the arrival of the Volkswagen ID.7 and its price in Canada, but its launch in North America has been delayed.

Given that demand in Europe is even higher than expected, there is no doubt that we can expect an exceptional vehicle!

As a mid-size sedan, Volkswagen has granted it a spacious interior where all passengers will enjoy great comfort.

It will also be equipped with cutting-edge technology and numerous features and amenities.

Price of the 2025 Volkswagen ID.7

As of now, we do not have any official prices for the Volkswagen ID.7 in Canada. Here are the estimated prices from our southern neighbors, along with the trims that might be available (in USD):

• VW ID.7 Base : $50,000
• VW ID.7 Pro : $55,000
• VW ID.7 Pro S : $57,000
• VW ID.7 Pro S Plus : $61,000

Since the prices are above $45,000, they might be eligible for governmental incentives for electric vehicles, as is the case for certain trims of the ID.4, with prices ranging from $51,210 to $63,210 depending on the trim retained. Regarding the electric minibus, the VW ID.Buzz, its starting price is $80,610.

The sedan’s electric performance

The Volkswagen ID.7 will be offered in Canada with an all-new electric motor that will provide the ID.7 with outstanding performance, including 282 horsepower and 405 lb-ft. maximum torque, coupled with a rear-wheel drive system.

For the time being, this is the only powertrain available; a trim with all-wheel drive and more power could eventually be offered as well.

Range of the 2025 VW ID.7 : 700 km

When it comes to electric range, the 2024 Volkswagen ID.7 won’t have anything to envy from the competition, with a range that should be around 500 kilometers on one single charge; a 77 kWh battery is the only one available here, while in other places, you could also find an 86 kWh battery aboard the ID.7.

Technologies

Just like for all Volkswagen electric ID concepts cars, the ID.7 will offer several cutting-edge technologies, like:

• A 15- inch touch screen, geared towards the driver

The ID.7 –offered at a price range that has yet to be revealed- also offers a long list of evolved safety features, among which you will find the Travel Assist system. Just as its name indicates, this system can assist the driver during lane changes on highways with several lanes, once speed reaches 90 km/hr.

Let’s also mention parking with memory function, up to 50 meters away; you can choose to remain aboard the vehicle or to exit before the maneuver.

Although little details have yet seeped through the cracks about the ID.7, we can assume that it will offer similar –or superior- equipment as what is currently found aboard the already commercialized ID.4. This means that the ID.7 electric sedan could be equipped with the following features (tentatively):

• Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
• Wireless cellphone charging
• Autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist surveillance

ID. 7: Configuration and Style

For the time being, we do not know what type of different trims will be offered on this Volkswagen electric sedan. As a comparison, we can look at the ID.4, offered in 3 trims, which could also be the case for the ID.7, although nothing has yet been confirmed by Volkswagen.

When it comes to the ID.7 interior and exterior design, this model is sometimes called the “electric Passat”; this midsize sedan will also focus on passenger comfort, thanks to a generous wheelbase that provides rear passengers with plenty of space.

You will also love the Fastback type silhouette and the sculpted lines, without forgetting the large wheels, the headlights that boast a spectacular design, and the elegant and functional interior. 

Estimated Arrival Date

The Volkswagen ID.7 should be arriving on the North American market in 2025, although we do not have a more precise date for the moment. However, it should be commercialized in Europe and China as early as this fall.

Estimated Prices

At the moment, it is difficult to provide you with a price range for the ID.7. Just to give you an idea, the ID.4 SUV sells at base prices of between $ 49,160 and $ 58,160.

The ID.7’s direct competitors –the Hyundai IONIQ 6 and the Tesla Model 3- are both offered at a price range of between $ 54,999 and $ 63,999 for the first and between $ 54,990 and $72,990 for the second.

However, when we take a look at the European Volkswagen website, we can see that the ID.7 entry-level model will be offered under 60,000 euros.
