All the new versions of the 2022 have a 2.0 L 4- cylinder engine with 184 horsepower, coupled with an 8- speed automatic transmission.  This year for the first time, all-wheel drive is offered standard on the Trendline version, instead of being optional as it was previously.  All Tiguan models have a towing capacity that can reach up to 680 kg (1 500 pounds).

When it comes to fuel efficiency, the 2022 Tiguan has a highway fuel consumption of only 8.6 L/100 km.  Urban mode numbers are 11 L/100 km.
