The 2023 Jetta in a Nutshell
The entry-level 2023 Jetta remains virtually unchanged from the outgoing 2022 Jetta model, and yet it does offer one novelty from the outgoing model. For example, it now comes standard with blind spot monitoring, which was not the case in 2022.
Moreover, all versions of the 2023 Volkswagen Jetta come standard with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, among other things.
Otherwise, all versions of the Jetta hide under their hoods a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower; and while a 6-speed manual transmission is offered for the base versions, only an 8-speed automatic transmission is offered for the top Highline version. Unfortunately, the 2023 Jetta is not available with all-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive.
In the case of the 2023 Jetta GLI, it is equipped with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that generates 228 horsepower; for this model, you can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DSG transmission.

At the very top of the Jetta lineup is the Highline model, with a starting price under $35,000. With 18-inch wheels and model-specific headlights, this version of the Jetta offers all the equipment of the 2023 Jetta Comfortline and more:

- Ambient lighting in 10 different colors
- Driver’s seat with lumbar support and memory position
- Ventilated front seats
- Safety technologies such as emergency assistance, lane departure assist, adaptive cruise control

2023 Jetta GLI – Starting at $35, 839
The GLI not only offers more power than the other Jetta cars, it also has a distinctive design that makes it easily recognizable from the rest of the lineup.
These include a red line running across the front and back of the grille, beautiful 18-inch Phaeton wheels, dual tailpipes and a panoramic sunroof, among others.
